The word “affogato” literally translates to “drowned” in Italian, referring to the cold gelato that is drowned by the piping hot espresso.

Place 2 small (or large) scoops of gelato in a cup (Espresso, Chocolate or Vanilla - the flavor choice is completely up to you).

Pour in a shot of espresso or roughly 3 tablespoons strong brewed coffee. We love Jittery Joe’s® Coffee in our affogato. Top with shaved dark chocolate chopped hazelnuts, cookie pieces - whatever makes you happy.
