Private Label

Ciao Bella provides private label production in its New Jersey facility. At any given time Ciao Bella can accommodate most private label production. Optimal scheduling for production is during the Winter months. Off season production is most cost effective for the customer. Warehousing of finished product and packaging/ingredients can be arranged as required and as availability allows.

Given our utilization of continuous and batch production Ciao Bella can accommodate virtually any size run and sample preparation. Current private label customers are working with Ciao Bella on pints, cups and bulk containers. Ciao Bella does not have the machinery to produce novelties.

Specifics:

1. Ciao Bella does not provide packaging or labels. The customer must arrange printing and delivery of these items. Ciao Bella will help with recipe development (at an agreed upon fee) which will then be the property of the customer.
2. The cost of producing each pint is relative to the flavor (ingredients), and packaging (labeling) and storage/shipping (will Ciao Bella hold product and ship in CB trucks). The best situation is to produce and then have the customer pick up all product the next day. This way there is no storage or shipping charges.
3. The fewer the number of flavors the better. Using CB flavors is very cost effective. We can only manufacture using the ice cream milk base available from the local distributor. Ciao Bella does not pasteurize mix.
4. Typically we establish a minimum "run" for each flavor. This run can be between 500 -2,000 pints per flavor.
5. Extra costs are sleeves ($.20 each) and boxing ($1.00 each). Also pallets and shrink wrap if required.
6. In general the cost of producing a pint is $.40 each (does not include package, label or ingredients).
7. In general the finished cost of a pint is between $.75 - $95 unit (includes packaging, container, label, ingredients and labor). Does not include sleeve, box, palette, etc.
8. Ciao Bella does not pay for the customer's packaging. They pay for shipping and delivery. We simply use the packaging for production.
9. Same for ingredients. The customer pays for or authorizes delivery of all ingredients. We then use the ingredients during production.
10. Pricing is a factor of all these procedures. They are not written in stone, but come into play for each private label transaction. Currently our private label deals in New Jersey are slightly different and are priced accordingly.
11. The customer must provide a written proposal. Ciao Bella will then invoice for any recipe work before we begin production.
